Alexander Goetz studied Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and conducted research in the field of radio localization techniques for frequency hopping signal sources at the Institute for Electronics Engineering in Erlangen. In his doctoral thesis, he investigated novel techniques for time-of-flight based localization of GSM mobile phones in search and rescue scenarios. He published several scientific articles on this topic and was involved as inventor in related patent applications. Alexander Goetz is employed as patent engineer and patent attorney trainee at PATENTSHIP since 2013. His technical focus is in the field of communication and information engineering, localization and radar technology, digital signal processing, microwave and radio frequency engineering as well as analog and digital circuit design. Alexander Goetz is member of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the German VDE Information Technology Society (ITG) and the German Institute of Navigation (DGON).
