Robert Klinski studied electrical engineering and telecommunications at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg and received his doctorate with honors from the Munich Technical University in the field of digital signal processing for multicarrier systems. During his doctorate he worked with the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication Systems in Munich where he designed wired and wireless communication systems and held the position of a project and group leader. Furthermore, he is the author of numerous publications in the field of digital telecommunications and mentioned as inventor in several patents.

Robert Klinski has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2002 and is the founder of PATENTSHIP. He has extensive experience in infringement and nullity proceedings as well as in preparing and prosecuting German, European, PCT- and US-patent applications particularly in the area of electrical engineering, telecommunications, digital signal processing, RF technology, digital and analog circuit design, coding, cryptography, software, medical systems, mechanics and optics.

Dr. rer. nat. Dipl.-Phys. Conrad Cramphorn

Conrad Cramphorn studied physics at the University of Göttingen and spent one year with a scholarship at the University of California in Santa Cruz. He continued his studies at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics and received his doctorate from the University of Munich in the field of radiation processes in the vicinity of black holes. His research led to numerous publications in the in the field of theoretical astrophysics.

After being trained in a leading German IP firm and working as a patent attorney in all fields of physics since 2001, Conrad Cramphorn worked for several years in the division "Mobile Security" of the IP department of a German high tech company, where he has gained substantial experiences in the fields of mobile telecommunications, RFID and NFC technology, computer-implemented inventions, smart-card security, secure cloud services and applied cryptography. His activities include various aspects of German, European and international intellectual property law, including filing, prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings, as well as patent litigation and freedom-to operate opinions.

Being of both nationalities Conrad Cramphorn is fluent in German and English. He is a member of EPI and GRUR.

 

Dr. rer. nat. Dipl.-Chem. Sebastian Geiger
German Patent Attorney | European Trademark and Design Attorney

Sebastian Geiger studied chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Munich and the University of California in San Francisco, USA and obtained his degree in chemistry with honors. He received a scholarship from the Bavarian State and worked during his doctorate in the field of structural biochemistry at the University of Munich. After obtaining his doctorate “summa cum laude”, he joined the group of Prof. John Tainer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA as post-doctoral fellow. Sebastian Geiger’s research results have been published in numerous scientific journals in the field of chemistry and biochemistry.

Sebastian Geiger was trained as a patent attorney in the chemistry department of a leading German law firm and has obtained experience in the field of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and biotechnology. His activities include various aspects of German, European and International intellectual property law, including filing, prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings, as well as patent litigation and freedom-to operate research.

Dipl.-Ing. Johann Geirhos

Johann Geirhos studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Munich. Johann Geirhos has been working in the field of industrial property law since 1995. He worked 12 for years as Inhouse Counsel in the Patent Department of the Linde AG and subsequently for another 10 years as European and German Patent attorney with the patent law firm Geirhos and Waller. Johann Geirhos joined Patentship in 2017. His main areas of interest include mechanics, hydraulics, material handling, material science and automotive engineering. Johann Geirhos has profound experience in managing IP departments and IP portfolios for international companies, drafting and prosecuting German, European, US, JP and CN patent applications as well as in opposition and litigation proceedings. He is further highly experienced in licence negotiations, Employee invention law, and Freedom to Operate analyses.

Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Goetz
Patent Assesor

Alexander Goetz studied Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and conducted research in the field of radio localization techniques for frequency hopping signal sources at the Institute for Electronics Engineering in Erlangen. In his doctoral thesis, he investigated novel techniques for time-of-flight based localization of GSM mobile phones in search and rescue scenarios. He published several scientific articles on this topic and was involved as inventor in related patent applications. Alexander Goetz is employed as patent engineer and patent attorney trainee at PATENTSHIP since 2013. His technical focus is in the field of communication and information engineering, localization and radar technology, digital signal processing, microwave and radio frequency engineering as well as analog and digital circuit design. Alexander Goetz is member of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the German VDE Information Technology Society (ITG) and the German Institute of Navigation (DGON.

Sebastian Mathies studied physics at the University of Berlin where he obtained his doctorate in the field of atom and molecular physics. Sebastian Matthies has been active in the field of industrial property law since 2006. His main areas of interest include laser and vacuum technology, semiconductor technology, optical components, mechanics, electronics and medical engineering. He has been professionally working with Patentship since 2009.

Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Ing. Stephan Binde

Dr. Stephan Binde obtained his degree in electrical engineering from Technical University of Darmstadt in 1991 in the field of control systems engineering and received a doctorate in 1996 for statistical signal processing research. He worked for Siemens Communications and Nokia Siemens Networks and has more than 10 years of experience in hardware and software development, systems engineering, system testing, and quality and project management within international project teams. Dr. Stephan Binde holds numerous patents in the fields of DSL, GSM, UMTS, ATM and IP networks. After working with an international law firm he joined PATENTSHIP in 2011.

His interests include wireline and wireless networks, speech and video codecs, data protocols, signal processors, microprocessors, DSP drivers, real-time operating systems, integrated circuits design, communications engineering, and control systems engineering.

Dr. rer. nat. M.Sc. Else Pllumbi
Patent Engineer

Dr. Else Pllumbi studied Physics at the University of Pisa. During her Master studies, she spent one year at the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris and at the Institut de Physique Nucléaire d'Orsay. In her Master Thesis she investigated the superfluid properties of atomic nuclei and neutron stars. Afterward, she worked on her doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics and at the Technical University Munich within the International Max Planck Research School on Astrophysics. Her dissertation deals with the formation of chemical elements during the explosion of massive stars.

Dr. rer. nat. M.Sc. Mei-Ling Huang
Patent Engineer

Dr. Mei-Ling Huang majored in both Physics and Earth Science at the National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan. She obtained her master degree in Astrophysics at National Central University, Taiwan. Since 2011, She was awarded fellowship from International Max Planck Research School to support her further study in Germany. She continued scientific research at Max-Planck Institute for Astrophysics, and received her doctorate from the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich in the field of galaxy formation and evolution. After her stay in Germany, she worked with the Department of Physics & Astronomy, Johns Hopkins University, USA, as postdocoral research fellow. Dr. Mei-Ling Huang has published numerous publications in prestigious scientific journals in the field of Astrophysics.

M.Sc. Michael Winkler
Patent Engineer

Michael Winkler majored in Physics at the University of Potsdam, where he focussed on polymer physics and telecommunications. Subsequently, he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Otage, New Zealand, in the field of electronics and sensors. His research focussed particularily on modelling electrosensory systems in sharks. He continued his scientific research towards his PhD degree at the University of Potstdam in the field of statistical physics. He has published several scientific publications and is mentioned as inventor in a patent.

Dipl.-Ing. Christian Grandl
Patent Engineer

Christian Grandl holds a university degree in Electrical Engineering (Diploma) and Systems Engineering (Master) from Munich University of Applied Sciences. In his master thesis at Siemens AG, he analyzed and evaluated different kinds of engineering processes and developed key success factors in the product lifecycle management process (PLM). During his studies, he worked as a Project Manager for developing Cross-Media-Applications. After his university studies, Mr. Christian Grandl worked as innovations consultant for Siemens AG and BMW AG. Christian Grandl has gained proficient experiences in the field of IP for seven years in a Munich-based patent law firm and at Airbus Group in Munich and at ABB Switzerland in Zurich. He is furthermore Assistant Professor for patent law and project Management for Engineers at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the author of several books on the production of multimedia content.
